We need your help!!

We need more PTC representation in the membership of the Philmont Staff Association!

Most of the members of the PSA with a PTC connection are former training faculty and not former staff.  More of us who served a summer at PTC need to get involved in the PSA.  We need to get more involved so that the PSA is aware of the needs of the PTC staff and so that the PSA does projects that also help the current and future PTC staff.

Most PSA projects in the past have benefited the CHQ staff and the backcountry staff .  That is not a criticism, that is because most of the PSA members worked there.

I believe that there is just one Philmont staff and all of you that know me know that I made a real effort to promote that idea.  So I am not trying to do anything opposed to that.  However, it just makes sense that if a PSA planning group is sitting around thinking of ideas and the group consists of former rangers and backcountry staff whose only experience is in those areas, PTC-related projects are not going to come to mind.  "We" need to be there at the table too.

As an incentive for you to join the PSA, and/or to support the PSA staff activity center project(s) we have commissioned a remake of an old PTC Staff patch.  Any former PTC staff member who joins the PSA, or any current PSA member who makes a pledge to the PSA project will get one.  Those will be the only ways to get one. It'll look just like the original one on the left.

Now I realize that it will take more than a patch to get you to join or participate.  I hope there is also a spot in your heart for the ranch and for those that follow you at PTC.
